An idea inspired by the legend himself and enhanced by us here at Aid2Needy. Omkar Nath Sharma, aged 88, also known as “Medicine Baba” is a common man, doing extraordinary work by walking around New Delhi and collecting unused medicines from people. All of us living in India know the pathetic condition of those without the money to buy medicines, suffering in the hospital, with no one there to help. There are millions of such people dying in hospitals each and every month. By donating the collected medicines to the poor, Medicine Baba has gained attention from many institutions and even the government of India for is commendable work. Please watch the video to gain insight.
Meeting him in Delhi, was a matter of honour. Seeing him begging for medicines from people, made me wonder, if I could come out with a solution which not only helps people living in Delhi, but also people from other parts of the country.
The seed was for Aid2Needy was thus sown, with the intention of making this technical solution available to NGOs, volunteers, and charitable hospitals across the country.
Our main goal is to see a India in which no poor is denied the opportunity to get medicines just because of his/her financial status. Today in India, we see death of thousands of people just because they didn’t have the money to buy the prescribed medicines. Every tablet, injection or syrup which you donate can help save someones life. Please donate and contribute towards this mission.
Aid2Needy is only a technical solution/platform designed to link/connect people with
excesses/surplus medicines with people who either are unable to afford or have no access to
such medicines. All medicines donated by people using Aid2Needy website or mobile app
